Chinese 2 Final Projects
Final Project: with your group, you
are to pick one of the following topics and do a final project.
1. Renting an apartment in Beijing:
Setting: you are
going spend a semester in Beijing as part of your study-abroad program. Since
you have your own apartment in NYC, you want to do a " apartment
exchange" with a student from Beijing. One of your teammate is the student
from China who has an apartment to rent in Beijing. Mrs. Gao is the realtor
agent who can help you evaluate whether this is a good match for each one of
you.
Task:
1. You need to
develop two brochures introducing your apartments, one for Beijing near
Beijing University, one for New York city, near New York University. It
must include:
- Location of the apartment and settings.
- Ways of transportation to major facilities, such as school, stores, library, hospital, theater, swimming pool, gym, park and airport.
- Layout of your apartment inside with supporting pictures
- Rental cost and coverage.
- Direction to go to five of the most famous sightseeing places in both places.
2. Travel planning
In the summer, you and your family
are going to make a month-long travel around the world.
Dates: July 1- July 31, 2013
Itinerary: in whatever order you like, you will cover at least 10
countries around the world.
Requirement: write a travel journal of your trip, which needs to
include:
- Weather of the day
- Sample schedule of your day.
- Major sightseeing you have seen in each country
- Famous food items in each place.
3. Shopping
Setting: you own a store
selling clothes Beijing, Hou Hai district. You need to design a catalog about your merchandises with different categories: top,
bottom, skirts etc...You need to include:
- color choice
- price range
- suitable group
- discount offers if any
- how to get to your store from airport and train station
4. Performance
You have learned some Chinese songs,
such as 爱我你就抱抱我,浪花一朵朵,对面的女孩儿看过来,月亮代表我的心。You can learn them well and perform them out,either
individually or with a small group. Or, you can translate a popular English
song into Chinese and perform it out.
